Applications

  • Therapeutic antibodies have become very effective medicines in disease areas of high medical need, such as oncology, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. However, remaining disadvantages of chimeric or humanized antibodies could be further reduced or even be avoided with the introduction of fully human antibodies.

  • Passive immunizations is another field to utilize fully human antibodies. Demand emerges from the increasing medical need for immediately effective therapies against life threatening infectious diseases, such as diphteria, rabies or even virus infections like ebola or COVID-19.

  • Venom antitoxins are immunoglobulins isolated from serum of immunized animals
    (e. g. horses or sheep). Therefore, their administration bears the risk of immunotoxic side effects. Fully human antibodies can red
    uce this risk.
